Hello everyone, I'm Keko, one of the online staff members.
Have you ever wanted to try loose leaf tea instead of tea bags, but found yourself without a teapot or the necessary tools? Maybe you do have a teapot, but find it troublesome to clean? If so, you're not alone!
While having a teapot is ideal for brewing tea, there are other ways to enjoy loose leaf tea without one.
1. Tea Strainer
A simple tea strainer can work wonders. There are many fun and stylish options, from cute animal shapes to sleek, modern designs. You can choose one that fits your mood. It can also be enjoyable to use a clear cup with your tea strainer and watch as the tea brews and changes color.
2. Drip Method
You can also brew tea using a coffee dripper and filter. This method works particularly well with deep-steamed tea (fukamushicha). The tea will pass through the filter, and you’ll notice a vibrant golden-yellow color. It's a unique and easy way to prepare tea.
3. Beaker (Measuring Cup)
This is perhaps the simplest method. Place your tea leaves in a beaker or measuring cup, pour in hot water at your preferred temperature, and let it steep. Then, use a strainer to pour the tea into your cup. This method is great for both single servings and larger batches. Plus, you can see the leaves unfurl and watch the color of the tea develop, which adds to the enjoyment.
There is no right or wrong way to brew tea; it’s all about finding what works best for your lifestyle and preferences.
Enjoy your tea time, however you choose to prepare it!
