Considering this matcha is the least expensive offering from Nakamura Tokichi, I can honestly say I didn’t expect too much from it, but it is one of the most affordable and enjoyable matchas I’ve purchased. Usually a brands blend at the lowest price point is the most bitter and astringent and least complex, but I find Fuji-no-Shiro to be very flavorful, but needing a little adjustment to temperature or technique to make it a very enjoyable drink.

The Fuji-no-Shiro is an excellent entry-level matcha: mild, smooth, and beginner-friendly, perfect for latte lovers as well. It’s not strong or bitter, but rather refined and pleasantly soft. An ideal choice for daily use and matcha-based drinks.

A good, approachable matcha with a nice balance and great value for money. However, it lacks that extra “kick” of deep umami for those who prefer a more intense flavor.

The cutest little bottle I put my matcha in it and take it whenever I’m on the go. I would definitely buy it again
