A Quiet Habit, A Cup for Dad
Hello everyone, I'm Keko, one of the online staff members.
As Father’s Day approaches,
I find myself thinking about the kind of person my dad is—
not just the surface things, but the quiet parts, too.
We never talked a lot, not really.
But there’s one small habit of his that’s stayed with me.
Some years ago, I gave my father a box of Nakamura Cha tea bags.
He never told me it was delicious, not directly.
But later, my mother said:
“You know, every morning,
he fills his big mug and drinks that tea.”
It had become part of his daily rhythm.
At our house, we don’t say much.
So I’ve come to notice the unspoken things—
the way care and affection show up quietly,
in routines, in gestures, in the tea we drink.
Now, when I see our stock of Nakamura Cha running low,
I quietly buy more and tuck it into the kitchen cupboard.
I never say anything.
But somehow, I think he knows.
Maybe tea doesn’t just warm the hands—
maybe it helps carry the things we don’t quite say.
This Father’s Day,
I hope you’ll remember a quiet moment with your dad, too.
And maybe, like me, you’ll share it with a gentle cup of tea ☘️
