Tea for Late Summer – Savoring the Season’s End
Hello everyone, this is Keko from the online team 😊
As we move through August and pass the traditional marker of Risshū (the beginning of autumn),
we’re still feeling the full heat of summer.
Yet in the evenings, there’s something softer—
a hint of breeze, a change in the color of the sky.
It’s a quiet signal: summer is slowly starting to say goodbye.
🌿 A different kind of tea
In this “late summer” season, I find myself craving something deeper.
Not cold, not sharp—
but gentle.
Slightly warm sencha.
Flavors that linger, and ask nothing of you but to pause.
🫖 A moment of quiet
After weeks of iced tea, I begin to long for stillness.
A cup I can hold with both hands.
A slower rhythm.
A softer mood.
Tea helps me feel that shift—from bright, blazing days
to something quieter, more reflective.
Late summer is a fleeting moment.
A time of both warmth and gentle melancholy.
If you find yourself pausing more often,
looking out the window a little longer,
perhaps it’s the season speaking to you.
May your cup of tea bring calm to these in-between days 🌾
