Afternoons Echoing with Ice: Seasonal Cold-Brewed Sencha
Hello everyone! ☺️ This is Keko from the online staff.
As we settle into June, the days of craving a refreshing, chilled cup of tea are officially here. The humid air, the gentle breeze through an open window—this season calls for tea brewed slowly with cold water.
Today, I’m delighted to introduce our seasonal limited "Mizudashi Sencha" (Cold-Brewed Sencha).
Tea extracted slowly with cold water reveals a completely different personality from hot tea. It has a rounded smoothness, a gentle sweetness that unfurls across the palate, and a quiet, lingering yoin (afterglow).

Crafted Specifically for Cold Water
Delicious cold-brewed tea isn't made by accident.
When you brew tea at a high temperature, it extracts not only umami and sweetness but also bitterness and astringency. Conversely, while cold water keeps that bitterness at bay, it can sometimes leave the tea tasting grassy.
Our Mizudashi Sencha is intentionally crafted to bloom beautifully in cold water.
The blending of the leaves.
The firing process.
The layering of aromas.
With a unique gogumi (blending) and distinct craftsmanship, this tea is recreated from the ground up—reimagined to open gracefully, taking its sweet time, inside the cold water.
A Sensation in Every Sip
When you pour it into a glass, you are greeted by a clear, luminous green hue.
The first sip brings a rich, coating umami and deep body, followed by a slow, creeping sweetness. Yet, it doesn’t end on just a sweet note—a faint hint of pleasant crispness remains, giving it that classic, defined Sencha structure.
Watching the light shimmer through the ice in your glass brings a mindfulness that belongs entirely to this time of year.
It is cold, yet deeply comforting and soft. I hope you take a moment to unwind and enjoy this beautiful early summer tea time.
