For Our Special Customers – A Moment to Await Maturity
“Enjoying the vivid youth of Shincha and the rich depth of Aged Shincha.”
In May, you reserved our Tokino Shincha, a rare tea to be enjoyed in the autumn. Right now, the leaves are resting—entering a quiet period of transformation.
Until the tea is complete in October, we will send you a monthly letter, sharing the journey and joy of waiting with tea.

MARUTO NO HITOKOTO

First Tea of The Season.

Just as the words say, it refers to the very first tea made from the new shoots picked only once in 365 days. It's also called the 'First Picking.'

Tea has been in Uji for about 800 years. In this long history, this 'First Picking' has only been tasted a little over 800 times – a precious flavor indeed.

Year by year, I've come to feel the changing seasons even more deeply. The harsh heat of summer, the slow arrival of winter's cold – all of it breathes within the new shoots picked on that 365th day.

The First Tea of the Season seems unchanging, yet it subtly transforms each year. As we think about the unique flavor of this year's harvest, the peak of its season is finally upon us.
