Instructions
1) Preparation
Preheat your oven to 180°C. Lightly grease the donut mold with oil or cooking spray.
2) Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and Matcha Starter. Whisk well until the color of the Matcha is evenly distributed.
3) Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, crack the egg and add the cane sugar. Whisk until well combined. Add the soy milk, oil, and vanilla extract, then whisk until smooth.
4) Combine
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Fold gently with a whisk or spatula until the flour just disappears.
Tip: Do not overmix, or the donuts will become tough!
5) Fill the Molds
Spoon the batter into the donut molds (or use a piping bag). Fill each cavity to about 70% full, as they will rise during baking.
6) Bake
Bake at 180°C for about 13–15 minutes. They are done when a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
7) Cool Down
Remove the donuts from the mold and let them cool on a wire rack. They are delicious as-is, but you can also dust them with powdered sugar or top them with a Matcha icing.
Fun Ways to Arrange
・Matcha White Chocolate: Melt white chocolate, mix in a little Matcha Starter, and dip the donuts for a richer flavor.
・Kinako (Roasted Soybean Powder) Topping: Dust the baked donuts with a mix of kinako and sugar for a traditional Japanese twist.
・Add Beans: Fold some cooked black beans or sweet red beans (Azuki) into the batter for extra texture.
Serving Suggestions
・ For Breakfast: Enjoy with a cup of hot green tea or soy milk for a light start to your day.
・Work Break: Warm a donut in the microwave for about 10 seconds to restore its fluffy texture.
・With a Matcha Latte: Pair it with a low-sugar Matcha latte to fully immerse yourself in the aroma of tea.
With Matcha Starter, you don’t just "whisk" tea—you can easily bring the joy of Matcha into your everyday baking. We hope this fragrant aroma brings a little moment of peace to your next snack time!
