Embrace the Art of Japanese Tea: A Daily Journey

Hello everyone, I'm Keko, one of the online staff members😊

I make it a point to enjoy Japanese tea every single day. Whether it's during breakfast, lunch, for hydration, or even after dinner or a relaxing bath, tea is a regular part of my routine.

What makes it even more fun is the variety of tea to choose from. I never get tired of it because I can select different types based on the weather, how I'm feeling, or simply my mood. Each tea has its own unique flavor and aroma, and I find great comfort in that.

At home, I have a collection of tea leaves, along with different teapots, cups, yuzamashi (cooling vessels), strainers, tea scoops, trays, matcha bowls, bamboo whisks, and more. I also have an array of mugs and large glasses for those moments when I want a different style of tea experience.

On weekends, when I have a bit more time, or when I get to enjoy some delicious traditional sweets, I like to prepare matcha. There’s something so special about taking a moment to whisk up a bowl of matcha and savor it with a sweet treat. Sometimes, instead of using a matcha bowl, I use a soup bowl, which adds a playful touch to the experience.

While I do love using a bamboo chasen (whisk) to create a delicate froth, there are times when I go for the easier option—a resin whisk. At first, I wasn’t sure how well it would work, but I’ve come to appreciate its convenience. It’s easy to clean since you can take it apart, and it comes in a variety of colors, which makes it fun to use! ✨

Enjoying tea is all about making it personal and relaxing. It’s my little daily escape, and I hope it can be the same for you too. 😊
