A New Chapter of Matcha: Meet Our Matcha Starter, Standard, and Premium

Hello everyone, I'm Keko, one of the online staff members.

As early summer sunlight grows a little stronger each day,
I find myself slowing down just a bit when brewing tea.
There’s something about this season that invites calm.

And with that calm, I’m happy to share something new:
our latest creation—Matcha Starter, Standard, and Premium,
a series of pouch-style matcha products launching this June.

While we’ve long offered stone-milled matcha in tins,
this new line is made using machine-milled tencha,
and comes in a soft, easy-to-use pouch.

You may not be familiar with the term machine-milled.
Our stone-ground matcha, which we’ve cherished for generations,
can only be milled at a pace of about 40 grams per hour.
It’s incredibly delicate and slow—but that’s part of its charm.

With more people now enjoying matcha in drinks and sweets,
we wanted a way to share it more widely,
and more easily. That’s why we’ve introduced this new method.

Of course, what truly defines delicious matcha
is not just how it’s milled,
but the quality of the tencha itself.
For this pouch series, we've carefully selected the raw leaves—
creating a matcha that has its own unique character,
distinct from our tin-style offerings.
