Only in Japan: Namacha Jelly [Shincha] for Spring 🍵
Hello everyone, this is Keko from the online team 😊
Spring has arrived, and with it comes the fresh new tea of the year—Shincha.
Every year, when we taste the first Shincha of the season,
we ask ourselves the same question:
"I wonder what this year’s tea will taste like..."
(And every year, we can’t help but smile.)(*´∀`*)
🌱 A Once-a-Year Treat, Only in Japan
With the arrival of Shincha, we also prepare something very special:
Namacha Jelly [Shincha]—a seasonal dessert made with fresh green tea.
This jelly is only available in Japan.
But even if you can’t try it yet, we’d love to share what makes it so delightful.
🍃 What’s inside?
A smooth jelly infused with the refreshing aroma and delicate umami of Shincha.
A generous layer of sencha-flavored bean paste.
Soft rice flour dumplings (shiratama) on a separate tray.
Each element can be enjoyed alone or together—it's up to you!
You can savor just the jelly first, then try it with the bean paste,
or scoop everything into one bite for a harmony of textures and flavors.
It's a little moment of joy that changes with each spoonful 😊
🇯🇵 Only in Japan—for now
Namacha Jelly [Shincha] is only available within Japan at this time.
But if you ever visit Japan in the spring,we hope you'll stop by and experience it for yourself.
There’s nothing quite like the flavor of new tea,
and nothing quite like a treat made to celebrate it.
Until then, we hope this post gives you a small taste of Japanese springtime 🌸
