Hello everyone, I'm Keko, one of the online staff members.
Today, I’d love to share a small idea—
a way to make your tea moments feel just a little more special 🌿
This series is all about simple scenes in our everyday lives,
and how tea gently fits into them.
Right now, we’re entering a seasonal moment in Japan
known in the traditional calendar as “Kokuu”—
when spring rains quietly nourish the earth,
and young greenery begins to flourish.
There’s still a bit of chill in the air,
but the light streaming through the window feels softer,
and a hint of early summer seems to drift in with the breeze.
On afternoons like these,
I like to open a book near the window,
and pour myself a cup of warm matcha latte.
The steam rising with a hint of green aroma,
the gentle sweetness of brown sugar floating in the air,
and the soft weight of the cup resting in my hands.
The turning of a page,
the distant sound of birdsong,
the quiet clink of porcelain.
All these tiny sounds and scents,
together with the words on the page,
become my tea time.
Even if it’s just 15 minutes,
having this quiet moment
makes the rest of the day feel a little softer.
