Shipping Time

  • Shipments take roughly 10 days to one month to reach you after your order has been placed depending on shipping method, destination, and weight. Please also note that there are certain countries and regions that we cannot ship to.

    In addition to the order and shipping charges, you (or the recipient) may be required to pay additional duties, taxes, and fees imposed by the destination country or delivery service during import processing and/or upon delivery. Charges depend on the country and items selected. You (or the recipient) are responsible for paying all additional charges.

    Please confirm the applicable customs, duties, taxes, and import laws for the destination country before placing an order.

*Payment method for customs and other fees

If your order incurs customs or other fees, you will receive an email, phone call, or other contact directly from DHL or your local post office (for EMS and ePacket). Nakamura Tokichi Honten is not involved in this process. When you receive this message, please follow the instructions and make the payment as directed

With DHL, a payment link will typically be sent via SMS to the phone number of the package recipient or via email to the person who placed the order.


*Estimates of customs costs

In the following cases, customs are typically not charged on Nakamura Tokichi Honten orders.

USA: item cost total under USD $800 equivalent

South Korea: item cost total under USD $150 equivalent

Australia: item cost total under 1000 AUD equivalent

EU: item cost total under 150 EUR equivalent


The following fees other than customs may also be charged:

-VAT and other taxes charged by the destination country

-Consumption taxes charged by the destination country

-Importation taxes

-Additional shipping costs for shipping within destination country

  • Shipping cost and shipping time

    The cost and time required for shipping vary depending on the shipping method.

    The shipping cost is displayed on the Shopping Cart webpage after you have added products to your shopping cart and selected the country and shipping method.

    An estimate of how long it will take to ship is displayed during checkout.


    *There may be additional fees charged by the deliverer when the package arrives. These fees can include import duties, VAT (value-added tax), and/ or customs duties. These fees are the responsibility of the package recipient. We have no way to predict these fees, since they depend on the country, so please check the import and customs fees information for your country before placing an order.

    The time shown for how long shipment will take is just an estimate. It may take more or less time depending on circumstances such as the time required to clear customs.

    Currently, global shipping times and costs are being dramatically affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We ask for your patience with orders, as delivery times and service charges remain unpredictable.

    When choosing DHL as the shipping carrier, please understand that prices change frequently. This is because DHL’s surcharge has been changing almost every month since the start of the pandemic.

    DHL also charges a temporary emergency service fee, which is reflected in the total shipping cost.

    The total time to ship an item includes order processing and packaging time at Nakamura Tokichi Honten (2-3 days), shipping time, and customs processing upon arrival. Delays may occur during busy seasons or due to natural disasters.
