While No.1 celebrates the delicate sweetness of the youngest tea leaves, No.2 explores another side of matcha—its profound richness, depth of umami, and full-bodied character, achieved by carefully selecting more mature leaves.

Crafted from award-winning Asahi cultivar tencha grown in Shirakawa, Uji, this blend combines not only the first and second leaves but also the third and fourth leaves, which have accumulated abundant nutrients and develop a deeper, more concentrated flavor. After extended low-temperature maturation, the tea is stone-ground with exceptional care to create a harmonious balance of aroma and umami.

Prepared as koicha (thick matcha), No.2 reveals an immediate depth of flavor. A rich, layered umami fills the palate with remarkable intensity, while bitterness and astringency remain exceptionally restrained. Its structured, full-bodied character lingers gracefully, leaving a long and satisfying finish.
